YORKTOWN HEIGHTS, NY — The latest Lowe's home improvement store to come to the Hudson Valley had its official grand opening Thursday in Yorktown Heights. The store is the second Lowe's in Westchester County. There is a Lowe's in Yonkers at Ridge Hill.

On hand for the opening ceremony were state and local officials, including Assemblymen Kevin Byrne, R-94th District, and Yorktown Supervisor Ilan Gilbert.

The big box store is located at 3200 Crompond Road, off of the Taconic State Parkway. Many neighbors had fought bitterly against plans to build another big box store proposed for that site. Eventually Costco pulled out of the proposal.
