NEW YORK — Cases of the coronavirus continue to increase throughout the United States — fed by the highly infectious delta variant — leading to recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention for wearing masks indoors, even for fully vaccinated people, living in substantial or high transmission areas.
The CDC has mandated the wearing of face masks on planes, buses, trains and other forms of public transportation, as well as indoors in transportation hubs such as airports and railway stations, but the federal health agency has only recommended delaying traveling until you are fully vaccinated.

A majority of Americans want vaccination to be required to attend crowded events or travel by airplane, according to a recent poll from The Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research.
The poll stated that 56 percent of respondents said vaccination should be required in order to attend concerts, sporting events or movies, while 57 percent said being fully vaccinated should be mandated for those traveling on an airplane.
