Man Accused Of Illegal Drug Possession After Rollover Accident
Police said the Yorktown resident was intoxicated as well.
YORKTOWN, NY — A Yorktown resident was accused of having illegal drugs and being drunk while driving. Yorktown police said they received a report of a single car crash rollover around 4:45 p.m. Friday.
Police found Sylvester Salzano, 56, of Yorktown, as the driver of the car. After he was treated by EMS personnel, police said he was intoxicated and had open containers of alcohol.
Salzano was also traveling at a speed that was not reasonable or prudent for the road conditions, police said. He also didn't stay in his designated lane.

He was arrested and taken to Hudson Valley Hospital for medical treatment.
After he was released, police took him to the Yorktown Police Headquarters.

Further investigation found Salzano had a quantity of Diazepam.
He was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and driving while intoxicated, misdemeanors, as well as three traffic violations.
Salzano was issued traffic tickets and an appearance ticket and released on his own recognizance to a responsible party.
He is due back in the Yorktown Justice Court Sept. 3.
