Man Damages Vehicle With Rock, Faces Felony: Police

Police initially were called to the location for a fight in progress.

YORKTOWN, NY — A 46-year-old Yorktown man is facing a felony charge after allegedly damaging a car. Yorktown police said Sidney M. Russ, 46, of Yorktown, was charged with third-degree criminal mischief, a felony, and unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation.

Police said they were dispatched around 4 p.m. Nov. 28 to a fight in progress at the Gulf gas station at 2001 Commerce St.

An investigation found that Russ intentionally damaged a vehicle by throwing a rock at it, causing damage in the amount of $750, police said.

He also was in possession of marijuana, officers said.

Russ was processed at the Yorktown Police Headquarters and arraigned in the Yorktown Justice Court.

An order of protection was issued on behalf of the victims.

Russ was sent to the Westchester County Jail in lieu of $1,500 bail.
