Mother's Day Mix: Yorktown's Weekend Weather

SOMERS, NY -- Cooler and unsettled weather may disrupt many plans Saturday and Sunday across the Hudson Valley. But don't despair. By middday Sunday, the storm front will be heading out and things may clear up.

"By Mother’s Day, the front will have sunk far enough south that dry, nice weather will expand south at least into northern Pennsylvania, and perhaps as far south as New York City later in the day," said AccuWeather Meteorologist Bill Deger.

Here's the weekend forecast from the National Weather Service for northern Westchester:

• This Afternoon-Mostly sunny. Highs in the upper 60s. Northwest winds 5 to 10 mph.
• Tonight-Partly cloudy in the evening, then mostly cloudy with a chance of showers after midnight. Lows in the upper 40s. North winds around 5 mph. Chance of rain 50 percent.
• Saturday-Showers likely in the morning, then occasional showers with isolated thunderstorms in the afternoon. Highs in the upper 50s. Northeast winds 5 to 10 mph. Chance of rain 80 percent.
• Saturday Night-Showers likely with isolated thunderstorms in the evening, then a chance of showers after midnight. Lows in the upper 40s. Northeast winds 5 to 10 mph. Chance of rain 60 percent.
• Sunday0Mostly cloudy. A chance of showers, mainly in the morning. Highs in the lower 60s. Northeast winds around 5 mph, becoming east in the afternoon. Chance of rain 30 percent.
• Sunday Night-Mostly cloudy with a 30 percent chance of showers. Lows in the upper 40s.
