New York State Police have identified the two motorcyclists <a href="https://patch.com/new-york/yorktown-somers/fatal-motorcycle-crash-taconic-0" target="_blank" rel="noopener">in a chain-reaction crash Sunday on the Taconic</a> State Parkway between Bryant Pond Road and Peekskill Hollow Road.Their investigation revealed that a group of about six motorcycles were traveling northbound at high speed. The lead rider failed to negotiate a turn in the roadway and lost control of his bike, striking the center guide rail, police said.The motorcyclist, 22-year-old Arturo J. Valenti of Queens, New York, was pronounced dead at the scene.Several northbound vehicles reduced their speed after witnessing the crash. A second motorcyclist struck the rear of a car and was ejected from his motorcycle. That rider was transported to Hudson Valley Hospital with non-life threatening injuries, police said. He was identified as Steven Garciaarcila, 23, of Maspeth, New York.
