The chain-reaction accident killed one and injured another.

New York State Police have identified the two motorcyclists in a chain-reaction crash Sunday on the Taconic State Parkway between Bryant Pond Road and Peekskill Hollow Road.

Their investigation revealed that a group of about six motorcycles were traveling northbound at high speed. The lead rider failed to negotiate a turn in the roadway and lost control of his bike, striking the center guide rail, police said.

The motorcyclist, 22-year-old Arturo J. Valenti of Queens, New York, was pronounced dead at the scene.
