UPDATE: Murphy Winner in State Senate District 40 Primary
Two candidates campaigned for the Republican ballot line in November.

10AM: Terrence Murphy won a decisive victory in the GOP primary for the Republican Party line on the ballot in November, according to unofficial results from the Westchester County Board of Elections.
With all election districts reporting, Murphy had received 2,960 votes. Bob Castelli had 1,264.

With 85 percent of districts reporting, Yorktown Councilman Terrence Murphy had a commanding lead over former State Assemblyman Bob Castelli.
Murphy had 70 percent of the 3,396 votes counted by 10:50 p.m., according to unofficial results from the Westchester County Board of Elections.

Murphy was tagged by State Senator Greg Ball as his replacement. Ball announced this spring he would not seek a third term.
