NJ Man Accused Of Violating Order Of Protection

After police spoke with the victim, the man was contacted and surrendered voluntarily.

YORKTOWN, NY — A New Jersey man was arrested after he allegedly violated an order of protection. Yorktown Police said Benjamin Sanders, 46, of Ridgewood, NJ, was charged March 22 with second-degree criminal contempt, a misdemeanor.

Police said that, around 8:15 p.m. March 16, a victim of a domestic incident came to police headquarters to say that Sanders violated a Westchester County Family Court temporary order of protection by texting and calling the victim multiple times.

Sanders was contacted by the police and voluntarily surrendered at the Yorktown Police Department, police said.

He was arraigned in the Yorktown Justice Court and was released on his own recognizance.

Sanders is scheduled to reappear in court April 17.
