Ossining Man Charged with Harassment in Yorktown
Police said he sent a threatening text message to a woman.

YORKTOWN, NY — A 31-year-old Ossining man was arrested in Yorktown on a harassment charge.
Police said James C. Abel, of South Highland Ave., was charged with second-degree aggravated harassment, a misdemeanor.
On October 1, around 9 a.m., police responded to a Baldwin Road resident for a domestic incident complaint from a woman who said she received a threatening text message from Abel.

Police said she feared for her physical safety.
Abel was contacted by telephone and voluntarily surrendered at Yorktown Police Headquarters October 2 at about 1:15 p.m.

He was arraigned by a judge, who issued a temporary order of protection in favor of the victim.
Abel was released on his own recognizance and is scheduled to appear in court again October 20.
