Pair Of 17-Year-Olds Accused Of Shoplifting From Macy's

Both women were charged as juveniles, police said.

YORKTOWN, NY — Two Croton-on-Hudson 17-year-old women were accused of shoplifting from Macy's in Yorktown.

Yorktown police said the two teens were charged with juvenile delinquency due to eligibility for youthful offender status. If charged as adults, the underlying charges would have been misdemeanor petit larceny.

Police said, around 3:30 p.m. Saturday, a report of shoplifting at the store was received.

The teens left before officers were able to get there. However, it was determined the two women worked together to take merchandise from the store valued at just under $284, police said.

The women voluntarily appeared at the Yorktown Police Department Tuesday where they were placed under arrest.

The teens were issued appearance tickets to appear at the Westchester County Department of Probation Dec. 2.
