Payless ShoeSource To Close Yorktown Heights Store

The family footwear retailer filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy and plans to close 400 stores.

YORKTOWN, NY — One of the three Payless ShoeSource stores in the Yorktown area will be closing as part of a debt restructuring deal, the family footwear retailer said Wednesday. Payless announced Tuesday it has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy and plans to close 400 underperforming stores in the United States and Puerto Rico.

The store in the Yorktown Green Shopping Center has been slated to close. Alternate locations for Payless that will remain open include the store in the Jefferson Valley Mall and one in Mohegan Lake, at 3137 Main St.

Payless has approximately 58 stores statewide.
