Peekskill Man Arrested With Drugs In Yorktown: Police

He was initially stopped for having windows that were too dark.

YORKTOWN, NY — A Peekskill man was arrested in Yorktown for having drugs. Yorktown police said John M. Castillo, 35, of Washington St. in Peekskill, was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor, unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation, and the following traffic infractions: unlicensed driver, expired registration, unlawful tinted windows and open container.

Police said, around 11:13 p.m. July 18, saw a vehicle on Crompond Road was being operated with unlawful tinted windows and a traffic stop was initiated.

An investigation, with the assistance of a canine officer, found Castillo was in possession of a quantity of cocaine and marijuana, police said

He was taken to police headquarters for processing.

Castillo was released on $250 bail and is scheduled to appear in Yorktown Justice Court Aug. 16.
