Police Arrest Bronx Man for Failure to Appear in Court

He was located at Riker's Island and taken into custody.

YORKTOWN, NY — A Bronx man was arrested July 26 for not showing up for a court appearance.

Yorktown police said Nelson E. Quinones, 29, was taken into custody on an arrest warrant issued December 19, 2013, for failure to appear in court in connection with a disorderly conduct charge.

On July 26, police were notified that Quinones was being held at Riker’s Island on unrelated charges.

Yorktown police went to Riker’s Island to pick him up, and he was additionally charged wth failing to respond to an appearance ticket for failing to show up on his directed court date or within 30 days there after.

Quinones was taken to Yorktown Police headquarters where he was processed.

He was arraigned and was scheduled to appear in Yorktown Town Court July 28.

Quinones was released on his own recognizance and was then taken into custody by the Carmel Police Department for an outstanding bench warrant.
