Putnam Man Accused Of Robbery In Yorktown

Police said the man and the vehicle were located in another county.

YORKTOWN, NY — A Putnam Valley man was accused of stealing someone's handbag and vehicle. Yorktown police said Vito M. Anzano, 30, of Putnam Valley, was charged with two counts of second-degree robbery, felonies.

Police said they were called around 2 a.m. June 30 to a report of a domestic incident that occurred on Campbell Road.

An investigation at the scene found that Anzano forcibly took the victim's handbag and car.

In the process, he caused cuts on her elbow and pain in her wrist, police said.

With the assistance of the Putnam County Sheriff's Office, Yorktown police located Anzano and the victim's car in Putnam Valley.

He was arrested and taken to police headquarters.

After being arraigned, Anzano was released on his own recognizance and is scheduled to answer the charges July 11.
