Putnam Valley Man Faces Attempted Assault Charge in Yorktown

The suspect was sent to Westchester County Jail.

YORKTOWN, NY — Police arrested a Putnam Valley man who they say assaulted a woman during a domestic dispute.

A woman living on Commerce Street called the police September 4 around 2:14 p.m. and said Zachary J. Heady had pushed her to the ground and kicked her in the back, police said.

Heady was arrested a couple of hours later and taken to police headquarters, where he was charged with third-degree attempted assault, a misdemeanor, and unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation.

He was arraigned by a judge and was served with a temporary order of protection, after which he was sent to the Westchester County Jail in lieu of $10,000 bail.

Heady is scheduled to appear in court September 13.
