Rain To Soak Hudson Valley Friday: When Will It Start, End

The rain will likely affect the evening commute. Will it clear out for the weekend?

Cold and rainy is what the Hudson Valley can expect for a good portion of Friday. Plus it look as if the heaviest of the rain will show up in time for the evening commute.

After Friday, the region will likely see a warm up before the rain makes another appearance to end the weekend and start the work week.

As Alex Marra and Bill Potter of Hudson Valley Weather point out, raw early April days are not uncommon and with Friday's temperatures above freezing — even at night — the probability of snow is slim, even on the highest peaks.

"But the majority of times… as in this case… wet snow in April would need to occur at night, or early morning," Marra and Potter said. "Unfortunately for winter weather lovers, who were hoping to see one last bout of wet snow… the arrival of the precipitation near mid day will mean a raw, cold rain for most of us."

And then there's the weekend, which, for northern Westchester, means highs in the low 60s once the rain clears out early Saturday.
