Rain Then Snow In The Forecast: Somers' Weather

Showers are what we'll see around Yorktown.

YORKTOWN, NY — Scattered showers, that's what the Hudson Valley is looking at. Rain showers intermittently on Saturday and Sunday, followed by the possibility of snow showers Monday night and Tuesday.

Still, it could be worse. After the seasonable weather of this work week, it's going to warm up again, forecasters say.

"Temps in the upper 40s is a pretty good deal for late January," said Bill Potter of Hudson Valley Weather.

However, it won't be all sunshine and warm breezes. Rain showers are expected off and on through the weekend. Then a series of storm systems will bring unsettled weather to the region.

"At this point, areas that stand the best chance of receiving more than a coating of snow will be the central Appalachians, eastern New England and Nova Scotia, and a swath from western New York state to perhaps southeastern New York state and northern New Jersey," said Alex Sosnowski, AccuWeather senior meteorologist. "There is the potential for slippery roads and airline delays from Monday night to part of Tuesday."
