Patriots Player Harvey Langi Seriously Injured In Car Crash

The rookie was reportedly with his wife when they were in a car crash in Foxborough last night.

Patriots linebacker/defensive end Harvey Langi was involved in a car crash Friday night, the team announced Saturday afternoon. Multiple reports said Langi's wife was involved and the two were seriously injured.

Harvey Langi was released from a Rhode Island hospital Saturday night, according to NBC Boston. The report had no updates on injuries suffered or the condition of Langi's wife.

The accident reportedly happened on Fisher Street in Foxborough, Kyed reported. Patch reported on such an accident Friday night. (Subscribe to Foxborough Patch for more local news.)

The team said the crash occurred when Langi's vehicle was stopped at a red light and rear-ended by another vehicle. They were transported to the hospital where they are still receiving treatment.

"Our thoughts are with Harvey, the Langi family and those who sustained injuries in last night's accident," the Patriots said in a statement.

Langi is an undrafted free agent signed by the Patriots in May. The 25-year-old played his college ball at Brigham Young University. He has played in one game with New England.

Patriots safety David Jones has tweeted out his prayers for Langi.
