Severe Thunderstorm Watch Issued For Hudson Valley

The main threats are wind gusts, the National Weather Service said.

The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for the mid- and lower Hudson Valley Wednesday. It is in effect until 9 p.m. for Columbia, Dutchess, Orange, Putnam, Rockland, Ulster and Westchester counties.

Earlier Wednesday, the NWS said that thunderstorms could be severe into early Wednesday night, with the main threat being damaging wind gusts.

For the mid-Hudson Valley, the weather agency said large hail and an isolated tornado cannot be ruled out.
