Shiver Through The Work Week in Yorktown

SOMERS, NY — Unfortunately, the warm spring days the Hudson Valley experienced last Friday and Saturday — in spite of the stiff, cool wind — are nowhere in this week's forecast.

The Hudson Valley should, however, be spared any snow from two storms headed to upstate New York this week. Plus, Wednesday and Friday are likely to be temperate.

"Those who bought annual flowers and sensitive vegetable plants in the warmth this past week may need to protect their investment," said Alex Sosnowski, AccuWeather senior meteorologist, recommending covering plants.

Here is the forecast from the National Weather Service for the week for northern Westchester:

• This Afternoon-Mostly cloudy with a chance of showers with a slight chance of thunderstorms. Not as cool with highs in the upper 50s. Southeast winds 15 to 20 mph with gusts up to 35 mph. Chance of rain 50 percent.
• Tonight-Mostly cloudy. A chance of rain showers in the evening. Lows in the upper 30s. Southwest winds 10 to 15 mph, becoming west 5 to 10 mph after midnight. Gusts up to 25 mph. Chance of rain 40 percent.
• Tuesday-Mostly cloudy. A slight chance of rain showers in the afternoon. Highs in the upper 40s. West winds 5 to 10 mph. Gusts up to 20 mph in the afternoon. Chance of rain 20 percent.
• Tuesday Night-Mostly cloudy. Lows in the mid 30s. West winds 5 to 10 mph. Gusts up to 20 mph in the evening.
• Wednesday-Partly sunny. Highs in the mid 50s. West winds 5 to 10 mph with gusts up to 20 mph.
• Wednesday Night-Mostly cloudy. A chance of rain after midnight. Lows in the upper 30s. Chance of rain 30 percent.
• Thursday-Mostly cloudy with a 50 percent chance of rain. Highs in the lower 50s.
• Thursday Night-Mostly cloudy with a chance of rain and snow. Lows in the upper 30s. Chance of precipitation 40 percent.
• Friday-Partly sunny. A chance of rain and snow in the morning, then a chance of rain in the afternoon. Highs in the lower 50s. Chance of precipitation 30 percent.
• Friday Night-Mostly cloudy in the evening, then becoming partly cloudy. Lows in the upper 30s.
