Snow Forecast Changes Again: Yorktown's Weekend Weather
Here's the latest on what the weather will be in Somers during the run up to New Year's Day.

SOMERS, NY — To borrow from Mark Twain, “If you don’t like the weather in the Hudson Valley, just wait a few minutes.” Yes, the weather forecast has changed again as it concerns whether the Hudson Valley will see some snow on Saturday. Only 24 hours ago, the snow was predicted for just the mid-Hudson Valley. Now, it is being forecast for all of the lower Hudson Valley as well.
Fortunately — or unfortunately, if you really love snow — if it happens, there won’t be that much.
Alex Marra of Hudson Valley Weather said that a low pressure system will pass to the south Saturday, allowing a bit of light snow to break out across the region. The timing appears to be between 6 a.m. and 10 a.m., from southwest to northeast.

“Again, this does not look like a major event,” Marra said. “The storm system is originating from our cold airmass, therefore it has limited moisture to work with, besides whatever it may borrow off the Great Lakes.”
Otherwise, the operative word for the weekend is “cold.” Wind chill values will make it feel much colder than what the thermometer actually shows.

And if you are heading to White Plains for the ball drop New Year’s Eve, be prepared to deal with a low around 5 degrees.
