Soggy Commute, Winds Return: Hudson Valley Weekend Weather
Here is what you can expect over the next couple of days for the mid- and lower Hudson Valley.

After a soggy commute Friday, people around the Hudson Valley can expect scattered periods of rain throughout the day with a high in the low 60s. Rain will likely continue on and off throughout the day.
A thunderstorm is possible Friday evening, but showers will be tapering off in the overnight hours. The lows around the region will be in the low to mid-40s.
Winds will be the major factor Saturday, after the rain has moved out, the National Weather Service said.

The NWS issued a hazardous weather outlook for Columbia, Dutchess and Ulster counties for Friday that said there could be some isolated small stream flooding. However, wind gusts near 45 mph are possible Saturday. There is even a possibility of patchy frost for Sunday night.

The forecast through the weekend for northern Westchester from the NWS is as follows:
- Friday: Rain, mainly before 2pm, then showers and possibly a thunderstorm after 2pm. High near 60. East wind 5 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
- Friday Night: Showers and possibly a thunderstorm before 10pm, then a chance of showers. Low around 47. Southeast wind 5 to 11 mph becoming west after midnight. Winds could gust as high as 22 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New precipitation amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
- Saturday: Partly sunny, with a high near 55. West wind 11 to 14 mph, with gusts as high as 24 mph.
- Saturday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 39. West wind 6 to 11 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph.
- Sunday: Rain likely, mainly after 1pm. Partly sunny, with a high near 54. Calm wind becoming south around 5 mph in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.
- Sunday Night: Mostly cloudy, then gradually becoming mostly clear, with a low around 36.
