Somers To Explore Law Banning Marijuana Sales In Town
Another municipality is also seeking to prevent pot sales in case the state moves to legalize it.

SOMERS, NY — With the governor seeking to legalize the recreational use of marijuana, the Town of Somers is exploring banning the sale of the drug. There will be a public hearing March 7 for legislation doing just that.
Supervisor Rick Morrissey said at a recent meeting that he, as well as Police Chief Michael Driscoll, opposes pot legalization, theexaminernews.com said, adding that he believes it's a gateway drug.
Somers would not be alone in prohibiting the sale of marijuana in Westchester.
