Somers Police Save Baby Accidentally Locked In Hot Car
The first officer to arrive on the scene didn't have the tools to open the locked car.

SOMERS, NY — Somers Police rescued a 1-year-old child from an overheated car Sunday when a mom accidentally locked both her baby and her keys inside her vehicle. Time being of the essence, one officer got to the location in four minutes, but didn’t have the necessary tools to open the car door.
A tow truck was called but it would take at least 15 minutes to arrive, and it only takes 10 minutes for the interior temperature to reach 109 degrees on a 90-degree day, tapinto.net reported.
The officer made a snap decision to break a window opposite the child, which saved the baby’s life.
