Sunny (With 1 Notable Exception): Yorktown's Work Week Weather

SOMERS, NY — The solar eclipse will cause temperatures to drop Monday afternoon 10-15 degrees. But the next day will overcompensate for that drop, with temps climbing high for a late summer feel.

"The heat really sets in on Tuesday, with sunshine mixed with some clouds… but temps should be near 90° for highs, and dew points in the low 70s will make for real feel temps in the low to mid 90s," said Bill Potter of Hudson Valley Weather. "Tuesday is looking like the hottest day we’ve seen so far this month, so get ready for a scorcher!"

Thunderstorms are possible, though, and that will bring temps back down for the rest of the week.

Today
Mostly sunny. Highs in the upper 80s. Southwest winds 5 to 10 mph.

Tonight
Mostly cloudy with a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms. Humid with lows in the lower 70s. Southwest winds 5 to 10 mph. Chance of rain 20 percent.

Tuesday
Partly sunny. A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms in the morning, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon. Humid with highs in the upper 80s. Southwest winds 5 to 10 mph. Gusts up to 20 mph in the afternoon. Chance of rain 30 percent. Heat index values in the upper 90s in the afternoon.

Tuesday Night
Mostly cloudy with a chance of showers and thunderstorms. Humid with lows in the lower 70s. Southwest winds 5 to 10 mph with gusts up to 20 mph. Chance of rain 50 percent.

Wednesday
Mostly cloudy in the morning, then becoming mostly sunny. A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms. Highs in the lower 80s. West winds 5 to 10 mph. Chance of rain 20 percent.
