Teen Tries To Stab Someone In A Parking Lot, Gets Arrested: PD
Police said a video of the incident was circulated on social media.
YORKTOWN, NY — A 17-year-old Yorktown resident was accused of chasing another young person around a parking lot with a knife.
Shortly after 11:30 p.m. Thursday, the Yorktown Police Department said it was told about a fight that had happened earlier in the day between two young people in the Downing Ballfields commuter parking lot.
A video of the fight had been circulated on Snapchat, and an investigation was begun.

Both of the young people were identified, and police said it was found that the 17-year-old, during a brief fight with the other person, pulled a knife from his pocket, opened it and began to chase the other person around the parking lot.
According to authorities, the 17-year-old tried to "cause physical injury with the knife."

On Friday, police contacted the teen and a parent by phone, and the parent agreed to have the defendant surrender himself at police headquarters.
The teen was arrested and arraigned, with a judge issuing a temporary order of protection on behalf of the victim.
Police said the teen was charged as an adolescent offender with second-degree intent to cause injury with a weapon, a felony.
The teen was released on his own recognizance to the custody of a parent and is due to appear in the Youth Part of the Westchester County Superior Court Monday.
