Thunderstorms Possible: Yorktown's Work Week Weather

SOMERS, NY — We kick off the week in the Hudson Valley with seasonably mild weather. "Delayed… but not cancelled… spring has finally decided to make an appearance," said Alex Marra and Bill Potter of Hudson Valley Weather.

However, as is its wont, spring isn't always sunny.

"A storm that is soaking the southeastern U.S. is poised to sweep up the East Coast," said Faith Eherts, AccuWeather meteorologist. She pointed out the upside: "Following this rainfall, residents are likely to notice a significant green-up of lawns and local flora as freezing temperatures remain at bay."

Here's the work-week forecast for northern Westchester:

• Today-Sunny. Highs in the mid 60s. Northeast winds around 5 mph, becoming southeast this afternoon.
• Tonight-Mostly clear in the evening, then becoming partly cloudy. Lows in the upper 30s. Southeast winds around 5 mph.
• Tuesday-Partly sunny in the morning, then becoming cloudy. Highs in the lower 60s. Southeast winds around 5 mph, increasing to around 10 mph in the afternoon.
• Tuesday Night-A chance of rain in the evening, then rain after midnight. Lows in the upper 40s. East winds 5 to 10 mph. Chance of rain 90 percent.
• Wednesday-Rain with a slight chance of thunderstorms. Highs in the mid 50s. East winds 5 to 10 mph with gusts up to 20 mph. Chance of rain near 100 percent.
• Wednesday Night-Cloudy. Showers likely, mainly in the evening. Lows in the mid 40s. Chance of rain 60 percent.
• Thursday-Mostly cloudy in the morning, then becoming partly sunny. Highs in the lower 60s.
• Thursday Night-Mostly cloudy in the evening, then becoming partly cloudy. Lows in the lower 40s.
• Friday-Mostly sunny. Highs in the lower 60s.
• Friday Night-Mostly cloudy with a 30 percent chance of showers. Lows in the mid 40s.
