Tropical Hudson Valley: Yorktown's Work Week Weather

SOMERS, NY — We kick off the work week feeling like we're in the tropics. The Hudson Valley can expect high humidity and intermittent rain, high dew points and scattered downpours.

"Our strong southeast flow has settled in, and left us with a rather tropical feel," said the guys at Hudson Valley Weather. "We will see this pattern continue into Tuesday and Wednesday."

The National Weather Service has issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook for Orange, Putnam, Rockland and Westchester counties.

An approaching frontal system late Tuesday night into Thursday morning could produce showers and thunderstorms capable of causing flash flooding. It is still too early to pinpoint exact timing and locations to be impacted.

Here's what the NWS predicts for the work week in northern Westchester:

• Today-A slight chance of thunderstorms. Showers. Highs around 80. South winds 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 80 percent.
• Tonight-Mostly cloudy with a chance of showers with a slight chance of thunderstorms. Humid with lows in the lower 70s. Southeast winds around 10 mph. Chance of rain 50 percent.
• Tuesday-Mostly cloudy with a chance of showers with a slight chance of thunderstorms. Humid with highs in the lower 80s. South winds 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 40 percent.
• Tuesday Night-Mostly cloudy. A chance of showers with a slight chance of thunderstorms. Some thunderstorms may produce heavy rainfall after midnight. Humid with lows around 70. South winds 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 50 percent.
• Wednesday-Showers likely with a slight chance of thunderstorms. Some thunderstorms may produce heavy rainfall. Humid with highs in the upper 70s. South winds 5 to 10 mph with gusts up to 20 mph. Chance of rain 70 percent.
• Wednesday Night-Showers likely. Lows in the lower 70s. Chance of rain 70 percent.
• Thursday-Mostly cloudy with a chance of showers. Highs in the lower 80s. Chance of rain 50 percent.
• Thursday Night-Mostly cloudy with a chance of showers. Lows in the upper 60s. Chance of rain 30 percent.
• Friday-Partly sunny with a chance of showers. Highs in the mid 80s. Chance of rain 40 percent.
• Friday Night-Mostly cloudy with a chance of showers. Lows in the upper 60s. Chance of rain 30 percent.
