WEATHER UPDATE: Hazardous Weather Outlook Remains in Effect for Wednesday

Rainfall could be heavy at times in some parts of the Hudson Valley.

The Hazardous Weather Outlook issued for Westchester, Rockland and Putnam counties for Wednesday remains in effect, according to the National Weather Service.

Conditions are expected to worsen on Wednesday as the day progresses, with scattered showers and thunderstorms entering the region in the afternoon. Rainfall could be heavy at times in some parts of the county.

AccuWeather.com says the storms will push eastward through the area.

“The main threats with the thunderstorms will be brief torrential rain and some gusty winds,” said AccuWeather Meteorologist Ed Vallee.

The expected rains in the region may not end on Wednesday night.

“There is also the possibility of a more widespread heavy rainfall with any showers and thunderstorms Thursday and Thursday evening,” according to the NWS.
