Westchester County Executive Tests Positive For Coronavirus
He was tested after he found out he was exposed to the virus at a community event.
WHITE PLAINS, NY — Westchester County Executive George Latimer tested positive for the coronavirus.
In the afternoon on Monday, a spokeswoman for the county issued a statement that Latimer received the positive result Monday morning.
"The County Executive sought out a test after hearing that he was exposed at a community event," Communications Director Catherine Cioffi said in the statement.

Latimer is at home in isolation, "and is continuing to carry out the work of the Government from his residence," she said.
He said he was grateful that his symptoms were mild thanks to being vaccinated against the new coronavirus.

Latimer told the Journal News he completed the first two vaccine doses and was planning this week to get a booster shot before he tested positive.
On Facebook, Latimer said he would be working from home and making Zoom calls for 10 days.
Cioffi did not immediately respond to a request for more information.
Shortly after 8 a.m., the county postponed Latimer's weekly 2 p.m. Monday news conference on the coronavirus and other county issues. No reason was given at the time.
