Westchester Man Accused Of Identity Theft In Yorktown
Yorktown police got a call from a law enforcement agency in Florida.

YORKTOWN, NY — A Peekskill man stands accused identity theft. Yorktown police arrested Jose Crespo, 39, of Lincoln Terrace in Peekskill, and charged him with second-degree identity theft and second-degree possession of a forged instrument, both felonies.
Police said they received a report June 26 from the Polk County Sheriff’s Office in Florida that one of their residents was a victim of identity theft.
The investigation in Florida found that one place the stolen identity was used was in Yorktown.

Crespo was arrested July 9 and charged with using the identity of another person and having a forged instrument in the form of a New York State driver’s license.
He was arraigned and released on $2,500 bail.

Crespo’s next court appearance will be July 24.
