Winter Tries Again in Yorktown Friday
We'll enjoy some nice weather around Somers but Friday's forecast is a mess featuring snow, sleet and rain. Here's the latest.

YORKTOWN, NY — Just because Saturday is April 1 doesn’t mean winter is over for us in the Hudson Valley. We’ll get a reminder of winter on Friday as the state sees some snowflakes and possibly some ice along with rain throughout the day on Friday and into Saturday morning.
"Let's start off with pointing out that Friday is the last day of March. So that means getting snow into the Hudson Valley is going to require a lot of things to come together," said Bill Potter of Hudson Valley Weather. "As of late Tuesday night, we’re not sold on the idea of enough cold air getting into the valley to make this an issue in most of the Hudson Valley."
Temps will struggle to drop down below freezing (a welcome change!) and that could make the difference, particularly south of I-84, he said. Untreated roads, etc could see some slush accumulate.
