Woman Accused Of Allowing Dog To Run Loose

Officers were initially called for a report of a dog bit, police said.

YORKTOWN, NY — A report of a dog bit led police to accuse a Yorktown woman of letting her dog run loose. Yorktown police said that Barbara J. Sundermann, 59, of Yorktown, was served with an appearance ticket for allowing dog to run at large, a town code violation.

Police said, around 2:30 p.m. Jan. 30, officers responded to Syska Road for a report of a dog bite.

While there, police saw a brown dog running unrestrained and without a leash in the roadway.

An investigation found that Sundermann allowed her dog to run around loose.

She is scheduled to answer the charge in Yorktown Justice Court March 10.
