Woman Accused Of Assaulting Court-Protected Victim: PD

Police said she tried to pull the other woman out of a bedroom window.

YORKTOWN, NY — A Dutchess County woman was accused violating a court order to stay away from another person and assaulting her. Yorktown police said Malene Kundrat, 40, of Wappingers Falls, was charged with aggravated criminal contempt, a felony, and third-degree assault, a misdemeanor.

Police said that, around 1:40 p.m. April 20, officers investigated the violation of an order of protection.

Officers said Kundrat went to the victim's residence about a half hour earlier and banged on the door. She then went to the bedroom window and assaulted the woman by trying to pull her through the window injuring her, police said.

The woman had a Yorktown Justice Court stay away temporary order of protection, of which Kundrat was in violation, authorities said.

Police contacted Kundrat and she went to police headquarters April 25 where she was arrested.

She was arraigned in Yorktown Justice Court, and the judge issued an order of protection protecting the victim, police said.

Kundrat was released on her own recognizance. She is due back in Yorktown Justice Court May 16.
