Woman Arrested For Driving Without License, Registration: Police

She was also charged with multiple traffic violations, including not using a hands-free device while on a cell phone.

YORKTOWN, NY — A Jefferson Valley woman was arrested on multiple vehicle-related charged after being stopped for allegedly talking on a cell phone while driving. Yorktown Police said Hershey P. Delapaz, 32, of East Main Street in Jefferson Valley, was pulled over around 2 p.m. Feb. 22 on Route 6 in the area of Mountain Brook Drive.

An officer said she was seen not using a hands-free device while on a cell phone.

A routine driver’s license check found that she was driving with a suspended license, and the car’s registration was suspended and was being driven with no insurance.

Delapaz was charged with suspended registration and third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, misdemeanors, an unlicensed driver, operating a motor vehicle on cellular phone — no hands free, failure to produce proof of valid insurance an operating without insurance, traffic violations.

She was take to Yorktown Police Headquarters and released on $150 bail.

Delapaz is schedule to appear in Yorktown Justice Court March 22.
