Yorktown To Consider Additional Retail, 2 Restaurants At Jefferson Valley Mall

The proposed 8,000-square-foot building would necessitate a reduction of parking requirements.

YORKTOWN, NY — The redevelopment of the Jefferson Valley Mall will be the subject of two public hearings of the Yorktown Town Board. The board will review a request on Sept. 5 to reduce parking requirements to make room for an 8,000-square-foot building that would two well-known, but unnamed, quick-service restaurants on either side of a retail tenant.

At a Sept. 19 public hearing, the board will consider a proposal that would make the lower floor of the mall’s Sears store into a fitness center, tapinto.net said.

A representative from Sears presented the board in June with the proposal to downsize the retail operations of Sears to the top floor only.

The idea is to have a fitness center and restaurants on the first floor of what is now Sears.
