Yorktown Heights Man Arrested on Drunk Driving Charges

Police said they received a call about a car being driven erratically.

YORKTOWN, NY — Police arrested a 57-year-old Yorktown Heights man on drunk driving charges.

Hugo P. Moreno faces two misdemeanor charges: driving while intoxicated and driving with a blood alcohol content of 0.08 percent or greater.

He also was charged with leaving the scene of a property damage accident, which is a traffic infraction.

Police said that on August 19 at approximately 10:22 p.m. a vehicle was reported to be driven erratically.

The person who called said the vehicle was swerving into the opposite traffic lane and sideswiped a guard rail on Route 118 and continued on its way.

A police officer said the vehicle and Moreno were located at the Gulf station on Commerce Street.

Moreno was found to be intoxicated, police said, and he was placed under arrest and taken to Yorktown Police Headquarters for processing.

Moreno was released on $100 bail to a third party and is due back in Yorktown Justice Court September 9.
