How did you come up with the name? I was, for a while, considering a more clever name like some tutoring companies use, but I don't use other tutors, and my name IS my reputation, so I just use it.

Why start a business in this town? I started tutoring about 30 years ago when I first moved to Yorktown, and I'm very happy here.

What business are you in? I tutor high school students for the SATs and ACTs as well as for other subjects. I also do college counseling and work with students on their college applications, including the essays.

What’s the most difficult challenge you’ve faced as a business owner? I can't say I've faced any challenges. I am proud to say the local schools and community have been very supportive.

What’s been your proudest achievement since starting? I'm proud to help so many of my students year after year navigate the college application process and get into colleges that fit their needs so well.

How does your business give back to the community? I have given free lectures on the college testing process at Yorktown High School, and I share my blog with tips about selecting colleges, testing and applying to college on all of the Yorktown and northern Westchester social media.
