Yorktown Man Accused Of Assault, Harassment

Police said the man also failed to show up in court for a scheduled court appearance.

YORKTOWN, NY — A Yorktown resident was accused of harassing and assaulting members of his family, one of whom was under an order of protection.

The Yorktown Police Department said Lee Madoian, 51, of Yorktown, was charged Friday with second-degree assault and first-degree criminal contempt, felonies, and second-degree harassment, a violation.

He also had an active arrest warrant for failure to appear, police said.

On Feb. 28, police responded to a domestic incident and said they found Madoian violated a temporary order of protection that was issued on behalf of a family member. He also harassed the person and assaulted another family member, police said.

It was also found during the investigation that Madoian didn't show up for a scheduled court appearance in the Yorktown Justice Court Thursday regarding a separate incident.

Around 4 p.m. Friday, Madoian voluntarily surrendered himself at police headquarters and was placed under arrest

He was arraigned and released on his own recognizance.

Madoian is next scheduled to appear in the Yorktown Justice Court July 29.
