Yorktown Man Accused Of Choking, Assaulting Victim

He turned himself into police headquarters the morning after the alleged assault.

YORKTOWN, NY — A Yorktown man was accused choking someone in a domestic dispute. Police said Bekim Rexhepi, 28, of Yorktown, was charged with third-degree assault and criminal obstruction of breathing, misdemeanors.

Officer responded to a residence in Yorktown around 7:20 p.m. Nov. 8 for a report of a physical domestic dispute.

An investigation found that Rexhepi threw a chair at the victim causing pain and injury.

Also, police said he used his hands to choke the victim.

Rexhepi turned himself in the next morning and was arrested.

He was arraigned in the Yorktown Justice Court and was served a temporary order of protection.

Rexhepi was released on his own recognizance.
