Yorktown Man Accused Of Driving Under Influence Of Drugs
Police also said he had drugs in his possession.
YORKTOWN, NY — A Yorktown resident was accused of driving while under the influence of drugs and also having heroin and pot in his possession. Yorktown police said Kristian M. Singh, 20, of Yorktown, was charged with driving while ability impaired–drugs, a felony, seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor, unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation, and three traffic infractions.
Shortly before 1 a.m. Saturday, a police officer saw a car traveling north on Gomer Street cross the double yellow lines into the opposite lane back and forth two times.
The officer tried to get the car to stop but it sped up.

The car eventually stopped after turning onto London Road.
Singh was identified as the driver, police said, and it was determined he was ability impaired because of drugs and had heroin and marijuana in his possession.

He was arrested and taken to Yorktown Police Headquarters where it was found he had a previous conviction with the past 10 years for driving while ability impaired by drugs, police said.
After processing, he was released on his own recognizance to a responsible third party and was issued an appearance and uniform traffic tickets.
Singh is due to appear in the Yorktown Justice Court Aug. 27.
