Yorktown Man Accused Of Drugged Driving

Police said he also left the scene of an auto accident.

YORKTOWN, NY — A 67-year-old Yorktown man was arrested after being accused of driving under the influence of drugs. Yorktown police charged Anthony P. Turiano, of Yorktown, with driving while ability impaired by drugs, a misdemeanor, and fail to use designated lane and leaving the scene of a property damage auto accident, traffic infractions.

Around 2:50 p.m. Aug. 27, police said an officer was sent to an auto accident involving a vehicle striking a mailbox.

Turiano was identified as the driver, police said, and he had been operating his vehicle while impaired by drugs.

He also didn't use the designated lane and left the accident scene, police said.

Turiano was arrested and taken to police headquarters for processing.

He was issued traffic tickets and released to a family member.

Turiano is next scheduled to appear in court Sept. 5.
