Yorktown Man Accused Of DWI, Leaving Accident Scene

Police said the man left the scene of the crash on foot.

YORKTOWN, NY — A 22-year-old Yorktown man was accused of drunken driving after a crash. Yorktown police said Kevin C. Cahil, of Yorktown, was charged with driving while intoxicated and aggravated driving while intoxicated, driving with a blood alcohol content of 0.18 or great, misdemeanors, and leaving the scene of property damage crash and fail to stop at a stop sign, traffic infractions.

Around 12:50 a.m. July 27, officers responded to the area of Gomer and Curry streets for a car crash.

Police said Cahil fled from the scene on foot prior to officers arriving.

He was located, arrested and taken to police headquarters.

After being processed, Cahil was released on his own recognizance to a family members.

He is due to appear in the Yorktown Justice Court Aug. 13.
