Yorktown Man Accused Of Felony Criminal Contempt
Police said he violated an order of protection twice.
YORKTOWN, NY — A Yorktown man faces a felony charge after being accused of violating an order of protection. Yorktown police charged Joseph Franco, 43, of Yorktown, with first-degree criminal contempt, a felony.
Police said, on July 22, a Yorktown resident arrived at police headquarters to report a past domestic incident. An officer found that Franco had violated a duly served order of protection by being at the protected person's home.
On Aug. 6, police said, Franco was found to be at the protected person's home, violating the order of protection for a second time.

The charge was raised to a felony, police said, because Franco had been previously convicted of second-degree criminal contempt within the preceding five years.
He was arrested and taken to police headquarters for processing.

Franco was arraigned and was sent to the Westchester County Department of Corrections in lieu of $10,000 bail.
A temporary order of protection was issued on behalf of the victim.
