Yorktown Man Accused Of Violating Order Of Protection

Police said he was sent to the county jail in lieu of bail.

YORKTOWN, NY — A Yorktown Heights man was accused of violating a protection of order in Yorktown. Police said Migel Celaj, 37, of Yorktown Heights was charged with three counts of second-degree criminal contempt, misdemeanors.

Yorktown police said, shortly before 10:30 p.m. Aug. 21, officers responded to a residence for a reported violation of an order of protection.

The investigation found Celaj had gone into a home of a person for whom an order of protection was in place, police said.

Celaj went to the Yorktown Police Headquarters Wednesday where he was placed under arrest.

He was processed and arraigned, but was unable to post $5,000 bail.

Celaj was sent to the Westchester County Department of Corrections and is due back in Yorktown Justice Court Sept. 10.
