Yorktown Man Arrested For Menacing, Resisting: Police

He allegedly had a spear-like weapon.

YORKTOWN, NY — A 48-year-old man was arrested for allegedly trying to stab someone with a spear. Yorktown police said Joseph C. Curtis, 48, of Underhill Avenue in Yorktown, was charged with second-degree menacing and resisting arrest, misdemeanors.

Around 6:30 p.m. April 11, Yorktown police received a 911 call about a stabbing in Yorktown.

The investigation found that Curtis allegedly menaced the victim with a spear-like weapon causing the victim to fear being injured.

Police said Curtis also resisted arrest.

After being placed into custody, he was taken to Yorktown Police Headquarters where he was processed on the two charges.

Curtis was arraigned in Yorktown Justice Court, where the judge issued a temporary order of protection in favor of the victim.

He was released on his own recognizance and is due back in court April 13.
