Yorktown Man Accused of Flooding the Taconic Parkway

Police said he was emptying a pool...

A Yorktown Heights man faces charges after connected to a flood on the Taconic Parkway that caused a 2-car crash.

Yorktown police said they were called to help state police with a crash on the parkway in the area of Mohansic Avenue June 7  -- and found it flooded. All three of the southbound lanes were affected -- at morning rush hour.

The water, they discovered, came from a swimming pool at 2192 Mohansic Ave. They say pool service worker Robert Schulhafter had drained a swimming pool  in the direction of the Taconic, sending about 5,000 gallons onto the parkway, which accumulated in the southbound lanes.
