Yorktown Man Faces DWI, Drug Charges

Police said the man was allegedly driving erratically when he was pulled over.

YORKTOWN, NY — A Yorktown man faces drunk driving and drug possession charges after being pulled over for allegedly driving erratically. Yorktown Police said Alex A. Garcia, 26, of Tulip Drive was arrested May 18 around 11:45 p.m. when police noticed a a vehicle that was crossing the double yellow lines and driving on the shoulder.

Police said Garcia was allegedly intoxicated and in possession of 1.02 grams of marijuana wax.

He was taken to the police headquarters for processing.

Garcia was charged with driving while intoxicated and driving while intoxicated with a blood alcohol content of 0.08 percent or more, both misdemeanors, unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation, and unsafe lane change and driving on the shoulder, traffic infractions.

He was released on his own recognizance to a friend and is due back in Yorktown Justice Court June 1.
