Yorktown Man Faces Felony DWIs
It all started with allegedly driving without headlights being on.

YORKTOWN, NY — A Yorktown man faces felony charges after being stopped while driving with no headlights. Yorktown police said Errol Fernandes, 28, of Yorktown, was charged with driving while intoxicated having a previous conviction in 10 years and aggravated driving while intoxicated with a blood-alcohol content of 0.18 percent or more having a previous conviction in 10 years, both felonies, and driving with no headlights and having an expired registration, inspection and driver's license, traffic infractions.
A police sergeant on routine patrol around 4:04 a.m. Nov. 3 said he saw a vehicle being driving without headlights.
A traffic stop was initiated, and the driver was identified as Fernandes.

Further investigation found that he was driving with a blood-alcohol content of 0.18 percent or more. Additionally, he had a previous DWI conviction within the last 10 years.
Fernandes was also driving with an expired license, police said, along with an expired inspection and registration.

He was arrested and taken to police headquarters where he was processed and released on $250 bail to a responsible party.
Fernandes is scheduled to appear in Yorktown Justice Court Nov. 15.
