Yorktown Police report the arrest of a 26 year old Yorktown man, who is charged with Driving While Intoxicated with a BAC over .08%, an Unclassified Misdemeanor, DWI First Offense and Speed in Zone. On August 18, 2021, at approximately 2:42 am, Officer Vuoso was conducting speed enforcement on Crompond Road. Officer Vuoso stopped a vehicle for allegedly traveling over the posted speed limit. He identified the operator as the defendant. After an investigation on scene, it was determined that the defendant was allegedly operating the vehicle while intoxicated. The defendant was placed under arrest and transported to Yorktown Police Headquarters for processing. Back at Headquarters, further investigation was conducted and was revealed that the defendant had allegedly been operating the vehicle with a BAC over .08%. Following processing on the above charges, the defendant was issued traffic tickets, and was released on his own recognizance to a responsible third party. The defendant is due to appear in Yorktown Justice Court on September 2, 2021 at 6:00 pm.
